Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the website mwm-messtechnik.de. It explains what personal data is processed when you visit the website or contact us, for what purposes this is done, and what rights you have. Date: 3 October 2026.

Who is responsible for the processing?

The data controller is MWM tec GmbH, Haid-und-Neu-Straße 7, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. Telephone: +49 721 7831 702-0. Email: info@mwm-tec.de. Further details about the provider can be found in the legal notice. If you have any questions regarding the processing of your data, you can contact us via these channels.

What data is processed when you visit the website?

The web server processes technical access data in order to deliver the website. This may include the IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the volume of data transferred, the status of the request, browser information and a referrer address transmitted by the browser. This information is required to deliver content, investigate errors and detect unauthorised access.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and functional operation of the website. The provision of technically necessary access data is essential for accessing the site. Without the processing of connection data, the website cannot be delivered to your browser.

Which hosting provider is used?

The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. As part of its operational duties, the hosting service provider has access to the technical data required for this purpose. Information about the service provider can be found in Hetzner’s privacy policy.

Technical logs are only retained for as long as is necessary for operation, fault analysis and security checks. The published web hosting service agreement specifies a maximum retention period of 14 days for the log data described therein. Any further retention of individual records may, for example, serve to investigate a specific security incident or to safeguard legal claims; such retention is limited to the extent necessary.

Which cookies and embedded services does this website use?

Images, fonts and presentation files are served by our own hosting provider. Google Analytics, Matomo and external Google fonts are not embedded. Google Maps is available on the contact page and loads only after your explicit consent.

When a login is explicitly initiated, WordPress may set technically necessary cookies for functional testing, authentication and administration. These serve the requested login service and are not used for the creation of advertising profiles. The exception set out in Section 25(2) of the TDDDG applies to storage or access that is strictly necessary; the associated processing of personal data serves the purpose of secure operation in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The validity of login cookies depends, amongst other things, on the selected session and, where applicable, on whether persistent login has been activated.

What happens when you contact us?

If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, we process the contact details you provide and the content of your enquiry in order to deal with your request. Please provide only the information necessary for this purpose. In the case of a contract-related enquiry or pre-contractual measure, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. We process other enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in appropriate communication in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Where consent is obtained for a specific purpose, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR applies.

Correspondence is retained for as long as it is required for processing the enquiry and any necessary follow-up questions. Thereafter, data that is no longer required is deleted, provided that there are no statutory retention obligations or specific reasons necessary to safeguard legal claims. For business documents subject to retention obligations, the retention period is determined by the relevant statutory obligation and the nature of the document.

The contact and application forms on mwm-messtechnik.de send your entries by email to info@mwm-tec.de and aubel@mwm-tec.de. Delivery uses WP Mail SMTP with the mail@mwm-tec.de mailbox at Alfahosting. Your email address is used as the reply address. The form function does not keep a permanent enquiry archive in WordPress. If delivery fails, your entries remain on the displayed form page. For abuse prevention, a keyed hash of the IP address with an hourly time window and random submission identifiers are temporarily stored in WordPress. These values contain no message text and are cleaned up by WordPress after expiry. No external CAPTCHA service is loaded. The preceding information about contact requests applies to processing and email retention.

Who may receive data and where is it transferred?

Data may be accessible to service providers responsible for hosting or communication, and to the persons responsible for handling the enquiry, insofar as this is necessary for the respective purpose. Disclosure may also be necessary where there is a legal obligation or where legal claims need to be investigated. No data is transferred to an external provider simply by displaying a standard text link; when you open an external link, your browser establishes a connection to that website.

Google Maps

The map shows our company location. The provider for users in the European Economic Area is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Your browser connects to Google only after you click “Load Google Maps”. In particular, your IP address and browser information are transmitted. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and, if you are signed in to Google, link the activity to your account. Data may be processed in the USA.

Loading is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where information is stored on or read from your device, Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG. This website does not permanently store your consent. “Close map” removes the embedded map and withdraws consent for further requests; previous processing remains unaffected. You can also use the company address without loading a map. Details of Google’s processing, retention and international transfers are provided in the Google Privacy Policy.

What data protection rights do you have?

You may, within the framework of the statutory requirements, request information regarding the processing of your data and have any inaccurate data rectified. You also have the rights to erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, provided that the relevant conditions are met. These rights arise in particular from Articles 15 to 20 of the GDPR. You may withdraw any consent you may have given with effect for the future; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to such withdrawal.

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object under Article 21 of the GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then assess whether there are compelling legitimate grounds or legal claims that require further processing. You may object at any time to processing for the purposes of direct marketing. To exercise your rights, please use the contact details provided above.

Where can you lodge a complaint?

Under Article 77 of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in your place of residence, place of work or the place where the alleged infringement occurred. The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in Baden-Württemberg is the competent authority for the company’s registered office. The right to lodge a complaint exists independently of other legal remedies.

Are there any automated decisions and how is data transmission protected?

The website functions described do not involve any automated individual decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects, nor do they involve any corresponding profiling. The website is provided via HTTPS. Transport encryption protects the connection between the browser and the web server; it does not replace the need to verify a suitable transmission channel for particularly confidential documents. Should any functions or integrated services change, this information must be updated accordingly.
